Build Your Brand with Facebook

If you are a business owner or aspire to become one, one of the biggest hurdles you will face is exposure. There are so many great people, products, and services that never become financially successful because no one has heard of them. Take venture capitalists and Shark Tank star Daymond John, creator of FUBU. Before he became one of the most recognizable faces in the business industry, he was an aspiring entrepreneur selling hats with his company logo in downtown Manhattan. He and his mom failed time and time again trying to make his company a household name. It was not until he had a chance encounter with rap star LL Cool J did his company step into the world of financial freedom. This is just another example of not only having a good product but believing in yourself enough to pitch your company to anyone who is willing to listen. One of my favorite sayings goes, "you do not have to convince everyone, you just have to convince the right one".

With today's technology and social media platforms, you now have an even bigger chance to reach that one person that can take your business from a level 1 to a level 10. Facebook allows you to create groups and market your content to that group. Your goal is to research the people you want to add to the group and make sure you keep your information and post fresh so people are not looking at the same posts every day. Take my Facebook group for instance, Entrepreneurial Advancement Group where I promote crowdfunding and entrepreneurship. When someone joins my group or if I add them to the group I offer them the service of sharing their information to my timeline while simultaneously increasing my friend list and group numbers. Those that see the value in this will add content to the group once or twice a week. Unfortunately, some only repost the same content which means they are less likely to get feedback from prospective clients and partners, then you have members like Derik Barnes author and owner of Cultural Essence and DaveedaYah Jane Brown, essential oils therapist, since I have started my Facebook group they have uploaded content approximately 2-4 times a week and it is always a different post. This shows they are working consistently to build their brand and creating business relationships.

Facebook groups allow you to not only make sure your post are being seen by a larger audience but it also allows you to advertise at no cost. That's right no cost, all you have to do is research your targeted audience, provide content or service members will find beneficial and be consistent in growing your Facebook group which in turn helps to build your brand. Once you have shown you are able to provide fresh content or service it becomes important to communicate and develop relationships with members of the group, this creates a synergy that allows everyone involved to grow and develop multiple streams of exposure and income.
