Taking a leap of faith is defined as believing in the unknown even when you cannot see it. You do not take a leap of faith because you saw someone else do it or because you thought it would be cool to try, you do it because you know there is something out there better for you. There is a calling and purpose for your life and until you take that leap you will continue to feel hollow. Taking the leap of faith provides you with an insight to life that most will never be able to understand. So many people live hollow lives, they live a life planned out for them, They are not able to live a life that is fulfilling because they are too scared or too comfortable to take a leap of faith.
It is not as easy as walking up to a ledge and jumping, that would be too easy and quite frankly dangerous. There are small moments that lead you to the point of taking that jump, you have to be taught how to jump and more importantly you have to know that is okay to jump. Taking that leap may be one of the most beneficial and selfish things you will ever do. Family and friends that have depended on you to be a provider or supporter will no longer be able to count on you being there at least for a short time anyway. Sometimes people will cross your path that provide a spark or an inspiration to believe in yourself. Some people see your greatness even before you take your leap, they believe in you more than you believe in yourself, you cannot let these people down. You know in your heart when you are called upon to be great, to be an inspiration, to be a leader. You will not be alone when you jump, the same creator that has watched over you in your moments of despair and uncertainty will also be there to make sure you survive your leap. Taking a leap of faith is not the hardest thing you will have to do in life, the hardest thing to do in life is nothing, just keep existing and not live a purposeful life that will lead you to happiness and fulfillment.
Have you noticed when the term entrepreneur is used in society it is usually in the context of "young entrepreneurs"? That is because the older you are, it becomes harder to take a leap of faith. Once you reach a certain level of maturity or reach a status in society, its hard to admit you are doing something wrong. It's hard to trade in your car for a bus pass or move back home so you can try to start a business. You have accepted material gains as a measure of success. Look around the majority of society substitutes materials for happiness and success. I ask you if you are not doing what you love to do, if you are not creating a legacy or if you are not inspiring others to be great, how does that make you a success? Taking a leap of faith will not make you an instant success but it is required to be successful.
